Journey on Relaxation

When I listened to this exercise I was surprised that the power of suggestion really did work.  Who knew that just by thinking about your blood flow, that you could move it to different areas of your body and it could be a technique to relax you.  His monotone voice and the music he used really calmed me. I need to use this technique before I take a test because I have horrible test anxiety.  I never realized that just by suggesting something and thinking about it over and over again that you could relax. I have used just the breathing technique to calm myself down, but using it with the power of suggestion was actually pretty cool, I will be definitely using this method.

  1. Nicki,
That is a great idea to use this technique before I test. I get very nervous over test as well and I do not understand why because I know all the material that I am going to be testing on and I also know that the anxiety only clouds my decision making but I still feel the same way every time. Maybe this exercise will help. I think that I am going to try this before I take our quiz.
    Thanks for the advice.

  2. Hi Nicki

I can agree test anxiety always seems to creep up on me each and everytime I try taking test, so I get it! I have heard that the breathing technique totally works! Woosah is one of my things that I often tell myself prior to taking any form of test it works thus far! Take care Channell :)

  3. Nicki,
I want to listen to this before bed at night. I am a terrible sleeper and the man's voice on the audio was so soothing,I became very relaxed and could of easily fallen asleep. It is amazing how powerful our thoughts can be and without anything other than these thoughts we can self-regulate to reach a relaxed and less stressful state.

  4. Nicki,

I'm glad that this technique seemed to work for you. I will definitely have to give it another try. It's amazing how most of you mention that the voice of the man speaking was soothing, and I seemed to have another reaction to this. All I could fnd myself with is some racing thoughts about other obligations, but maybe I just didn't pick the right time or the right setting. I'm looking forward to redirecting my blood flow.
